Welcome to Scenic Cafe BOUSHI IWA, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Abashiri, Hokkaido. This charming cafe isn't just a stop for coffee—it's an experience steeped in artistry and breathtaking views. Located within a glass blowing shop, visitors can indulge in delightful refreshments while marveling at skilled artisans crafting beautiful glass pieces. The ambience is serene, making it the perfect escape for those seeking a tranquil atmosphere infused with creativity.

As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a cozy atmosphere and stunning glass artwork that adorns the space, much of it available for purchase. The view from the cafe is nothing short of spectacular: gaze out at the iconic icebreaker ship making its way through the Abashiri coastline, creating a picturesque backdrop for your time here. This unique setting makes Scenic Cafe BOUSHI IWA a must-visit for art enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.

When it comes to the menu, the cafe offers a selection of drinks that are as imaginative as they are delicious. A standout recommendation is the Ryuhyo Iced Coffee, a twist on the classic affogato. Picture this: a generous scoop of creamy ice cream, served with a rich, aromatic coffee poured over a towering chunk of ice, providing a refreshing counterpoint for your palate. It’s a visual spectacle as much as a taste sensation, embodying the spirit of Hokkaido's artistic innovation.

Another customer favorite is the Ryu Hyo soda, a vibrant and refreshing drink that captures the essence of Abashiri’s beautiful blue hues. Pair it with a slice of rich cheesecake for a perfectly indulgent treat that balances sweet and tangy notes.

Don’t just take our word for it; customers rave about their experiences at BOUSHI IWA. William Ng describes it as a “quaint cafe” that beautifully merges artistry with refreshment, bringing forth an enjoyable glimpse into the craftsmanship of glass blowing. Similarly, Yin Ling Leong praises the relaxing ambiance and the enjoyment of their tea time, encapsulating the serene flow of the cafe that enhances every sip.

For those seeking a peaceful locale to unwind, Scenic Cafe BOUSHI IWA provides not only excellent coffee and service but also a calming retreat with remarkable views. Mark Tsuneta highlights the friendly service and how the views are particularly enchanting during snowy days as you watch the icebreaker approach.

Whether you’re an art lover, a coffee enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique backdrop to spend your afternoon, this cafe promises a rich tapestry of charm and warmth. Sit back, admire the craftsmanship, sip on your drink, and let the peaceful sounds of Abashiri wash over you. Scenic Cafe BOUSHI IWA is not just a cafe; it’s a celebration of the intersection between art and nature.

Plan your visit, and prepare to create memorable moments that linger long after the last sip.

A quaint cafe located inside a glass blowing shop that recycles pendarfluor lights. The cafe offers a glimpse at the artisans working their craft, and also a view of the Abashiri coast. The cafe uses unique glassware produced in-house. Order at the counter and immediately pay. The Ryuhyo Iced Coffee is recommended. Basically it's an iced affogatto with an iceberg-like chunk of ice cream. Enjoyed the gouda cheesecake too. Check out the glass trinkets strewn on the tables and counters. If you like them, you can buy them at the store. Cost a pretty penny though. Outdoor seating is available.

A very relaxing cafe with a unique setting. You can enjoy a lovely view of the icebreaker ship and Abashiri coast right from your seat, which adds to the overall charm. Since it’s located inside the glass museum, the space is filled with beautifully crafted glass pieces—many of which are available for purchase, making it a treat for art and design lovers. We really enjoyed our tea time here. The Gouda cheesecake was a highlight—light, fluffy, and not the dense kind you usually get. Another nice touch: you can choose from a variety of elegant cups and glasses to enjoy your tea, adding a personal and refined feel to the experience.

Nice place to take a break, relax and enjoy the scenery, especially seating at the table facing the sea. There's a pretty good variety of drinks to choose from, all look creative and appealing. Blue is a recurring color of Abashiri so I went for their Ryu Hyo soda and a cheese cake on the side. It was refreshing!

This cafe had a nice cozy atmosphere, friendly service and delicious ice cream and cheese cake. The view was great where you could admire the snow and see the ice breaker ship arriving and going.

Small cafe hiding inside the glass shop. Coffee and other beverage are by standard with reasonable price. Good view of the ferry pier. Staff are friendly and attentive.

A cafe located in the same space as a glass museum. Good cakes that pairs well with Ceylon tea. A must visit after watching the drift ice. Prices for drinks and food is about 400yem each with discounts if purchased with cake. The place has some amazing views of the water through one window and of the glass works through the other. It was quite amusing to watch the staff get the Aurora whenever they leave or return. They use the workshops products to even on their complementary water station.

Nice little cafe, located within the glass museum/shop. Overlooking the ocean. Self-serve water available in glasses made with the factory.
